Since the 2017 Volvo XC40 will seat at the top of its lineup, the Volvo has hooked up this model with a revamped exterior to justify such a big role. 2017 Volvo XC40 – Hybrid Engine:
The 2017 Volvo XC40 will be powered by a hybrid engine. It features a petrol/electric hybrid engine that will operate much like the system used by the XC90 T8. However, the 2017 Volvo XC40’s system dubbed T5 will use a smaller 1.5 liter 3-cylinder engine that is supplemented by a 74 hp electric unit. The electric unit will allow for a potential thirty-mile petrol-free range and an emission level that Volvo has termed as class-leading. The total output will be 200 hp. The powertrain will also be paired with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. According to Volvo, the new model can house 4-wheel drive system for future models.
2017 Volvo XC40 – Availability Date and MSRP:
The production of new Volvo XC40 Concept is expected to hit the showrooms by mid-2017. The base model will come at a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of around $32,000. Main competitors will be BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA.
