The Renault car manufacturer has announced their plans of releasing the next generation of Captur concept. This car model made its first appearance in the auto world back in 2011 during the Geneva Motor Show. The upcoming model is going to enter the market as 2017 Renault Grand Captur. It will attract the attention of both car enthusiasts and motorists. Adopting an excellent SUV platform, the new Renault is going to feature awesome exterior and interior designing. Consumers should also expect upgraded powertrain performance.
2017 Renault Grand Captur – Features and Design:
According to spy photos taken during its road test, this vehicle looks quite larger than its predecessor. The overall exterior styling for the 2017 Renault Grand Captur appears awesome with the same headlights and grille design as the current model. The fog lights are also similar though they are quite hidden underneath. Unlike the current Captur, the lower body lines are not dominating the side skirts.
The main exterior upgrade is on the wheelbase, which now comes longer. You should expect a smooth body line, especially near the door handles. When it comes to the rear end, consumers will get smaller tail lights. The rear fascia has also be redesigned while the rear hatch and spoiler overhangs.
The automaker is likely to carry forward some of the previous interior features. Appropriate changes will, however, be made to enhance the appearance and also allow for extra cargo space.
The interior will come spacious with attractive materials. Also, there will be an extended headroom and leg space to reduce fatigue caused by long distance driving. The interior design cues found in the current Captur suggest that the new model will adopt quality leather. It will be upholstering on the seats, dashboard, and even the door trim. The new model will come with a premium audio system, and a new set of speakers fitted at the rear end. A rear cargo space has been extended in this version. The infotainment system adopts a simple center console at the center of the dashboard.
2017 Renault Grand Captur – Engine and Transmission:
The engine is rated to produce up to 120 hp and 140 ft-lb of torque. For high-end levels, an optional larger engine will produces 150 hp. Both powertrains will come with either five-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic transmission.
2017 Renault Grand Captur – Release Date and MSRP:
The manufacturer has not yet announced the exact release date. However, it is likely to hit the auto market by the end of this year or in the first quarter of 2017. The 2017 Renault Grand Captur will have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $25,000 as the base price, while high-end models will be priced as much as $32,000.
