The new-gen 2018 Nissan Qashqai will come in the spotlight with a bloat-load of technological add-ons. The Nissan’s Qashqai seems to have gone astray from mainstream requisites since its ‘much needed’ facelift hasn’t been done yet. But 2018 fiscal year seems to be a perfect opportunity for the Japs as this compact crossover SUV is set to get the facelift it deserves. With that being said, the Nissan will not go overboard either as this ‘long-halted’ facelift will rather come gentle and subtle (mainly to keep up with the secret success mantra). The new-gen model’s outer body will wear elegant yet effective refinements in styling.
2018 Nissan Qashqai – Beautiful Sporty Styling
The front fascia will get a muscular approach with curvy creases rising from the front fenders. The style statement of Nissan’s ‘V-motion’ grille will be uplifted by angular headlights. Speaking of which, the headlights will incorporate blacked-out recess and sharp cuts. Its front bumper will also sport hexagonal air vents that shout out progressive styling. Flared alloy wheels with body-contrast colors will be a head turner as well. The side body edges will sport chrome trim for added sportiness.
The newest addition in 2018 Nissan Qashqai will be the company’s latest semi-autonomous drive tech; ProPilot. Other tech features like drivetrain monitoring and LED lighting will be on the cards as well.
The interior cabin in specific will host a myriad of tech features for convenience and entertainment. Features like updated infotainment, HD satellite radio, premium surround sound and rear seat entertainment are also expected to come as standard.
The safety technology in 2018 Nissan Qashqai will come revised as well. Furthermore, some of the standard safety techs will include Blind Spot Warning, High Beam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Around-view Monitor, Pedestrian Recognition and Intelligent Emergency Autonomous Braking.
2018 Nissan Qashqai – Under the Hood
The engine options of 2018 Nissan Qashqai will be the same as that of its predecessor. The options will also consist of a 1.2L gasoline, 1.6L gasoline, and a 1.5L diesel.
- First off, the 1.2L base engine will suffice for power outputs of 128 HP and 132 lb-ft torque. So, the EPA ratings of this engine will stay around 19 mpg in the city, 24 mpg on highways and 22 mpg on a combined scale.
- The 2nd engine option; 1.6L mill will be good for churning out 139 HP and 141 lb-ft torque. With this engine, 0 to 60 mph will come in 6.7 seconds and fuel economy will go out as 20/24/23 mpg for city/highway/combined respectively.
- The diesel burner; 1.5L is expected to produce 144 HP and 146 lb-ft torque. However, this engine will be mostly focused towards fuel saving and is suspected of returning a combined EPA rating of 70 mpg.
The transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and CVT. Similarly, 2WD should come standard and AWD as optional.
