The Mercedes-Benz GLC is a compact crossover model car. This class was firstly created to be a luxury crossover that has in the same time some sedan features. This class is also called Sports Activity Coupe or hatchback SUV and another model belonging to this class is the BMW X6. The BMW was the leader of SAC markets since 2014, but with the official launch of 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC, they will have serious problems in keeping that position.
2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC – Objectives of Facelift:
The exterior of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC looks very much like its SUV “brother”, the GLK, but it doesn’t look that brutal. Because of the softer lines from the bodywork, it looks more stylish and it has a friendlier look. Normally we would think that this coupe looks of the car had to sacrifice some cargo space in order to be achieved but it isn’t the case. The overall sizes of the car are actually with 3.2 inches longer and 1.6 inches lower than the SUV model. The headlights and taillights aren’t LED operated by stock, but this option can be purchased for some extra money. The same goes with the Panorama roof.
The interior of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC looks like a German factory: simple, well organized and with a lot of useful features. The materials used inside the cabin are premium quality as in all the other Mercedes models. The dashboard is smooth and well organized and in the middle, we can observe an LCD screen which is semi-integrated to the top of the center stack. The wood insertions that separate the top and lower parts of the door confirm that we are dealing with a luxury vehicle and that the producers focused on every detail in order to push the car to the next level.
2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC – Engine and Top Speed:
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC is a great choice even for the SUV enthusiasts as for the coupe ones. It goes without saying that it’s a perfectly safe choice given the reputation of Mercedes and their successful models so far. A basic power unit option will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder gas engine which is able to produce up to 241 hp and a 273 lb. torque. The engine will be operated by a nine-speed automatic transmission. This system is also available at the AMG models, and the transmission sends 69% of the total power to the rear axle. The speed performances at the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC are pretty impressive and a premium model could go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to the producer and its set to a maximum of 155 mph.
2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC – MSRP and Date of Arrival:
There hasn’t been a release yet concerning the price of the new Mercedes-Benz GLC. Given the fact that we’re talking about a Mercedes car, and looking at its previous models we can expect a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $40,000. The car is planned to be released to the large market from the beginning of 2017.
