Kia car manufacturer has launched its production of the fourth-generation Sportage compact SUV concept. The manufacturer introduced their plans for the new Sportage at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show. It will be released into the auto market as 2017 Kia Sportage featuring redefined sportier exterior as well premium and revised luxurious interior styling. Though the automaker did not give its market details during the show, consumers are expecting that this model will be available for the U.S market. Featuring an excellent SUV platform, the 2017 Kia Sportage is going to be offered in three trim levels. These include the base LX, EX, and top of the class SX Turbo trim levels. You should also expect some impressive changes to the powertrain.
2017 Kia Sportage – Perfectly Designed With Cool Colors:
The upcoming 2017 Kia Sportage will not change much in its styling and dimensions. However, the new exterior appears sportier with wheels pushed towards the corners. Consumers will have to choose between seven exterior color options. These include; Hyper Red, Pacific Blue, Burnished Copper, Sparkling Silver, Black Cherry, Clear White and Mineral Silver. The sleek exterior profile adopts high strength steel and lightweight aluminum design. The lightweight aluminum materials reduce the car’s general weight hence enhancing its aerodynamic power as well as fuel efficiency.
The base LX trim level rides on 17-inch alloy wheels while the mid-level EX will be fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels. Those who opts for the top of the class trim level gets massive 19-inch alloy wheels for better off-road performance. The 2017 Sportage SX-Turbo trim level also offers a panoramic sunroof.
The all trim levels provide a comfortable and spacious interior with the current infotainment features. The base SX model comes with standard features such as heated and leather-upholstered front seats, 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, climate control and air conditioning. Consumers will also access 160-watt audio system with SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth smartphone integration, CD/MP3/MP4 player and USB port interface. The newest 2017 Sportage is the first Kia model to feature UVO3 system. Those going for the top model, SX turbo will get 8-inch display screen, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and aluminum-trimmed pedals. Among the safety features and driver, aids include lane-departure warning system, premium safety belts, quality airbags, automatic braking system, parking sensors, rear view camera among others.
2017 Kia Sportage – Engine and Trim Levels:
Under the hood, the base LX and EX trim levels gets 2.4-liter 4-cylinder DOHC engine with an output of 181 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. The SX- Turbo model will be powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged motor. This is rated at 240 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Also, the both engines will be paired to 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode. Power will be sent to either front-wheel drive system or all-wheel-drive system (AWD). The new model is capable of attaining a top speed of 130 miles per hour while acceleration stands read at 0 to 60 miles per hour with 6,9 seconds. When it comes fuel economy for 2017 Kia Sportage, the combined EPA is estimated at 20 miles per gallon for city drives, 23 mpg on highways and 20 mpg combined.

The Kia has no yet announced the official release date and pricing for the upcoming 2017 Kia Sportage model.
