2017 Holden Trailblazer Review, Specs

The 2017 Holden Trailblazer is a new approach towards blending the functionality of a wagon and power of a full-fledged SUV. The new-generation change has brought impressive improvements on handling and fuel economy. This new Trailblazer comes in 2 different iterations (trims) – LT and LTZ. With this selection, pricing varies accordingly.

2017 Holden Trailblazer – Control and Handling:

Apart from being perfectly adequate family hauler, the 2017 Holden Trailblazer boasts of capabilities that are off the charts. The suspension system has been tuned this time; the rear unit integrates 5-link live axles while the front suspension consists of independent double wishbone (with a high ride set-up). Other performance-related features of this SUV include:

Exterior and Interior:

The 2017 Holden Trailblazer inherits the signature look of its predecessor while including some new design elements. Like before, the grille is divided into 2 sections. Its front door mirrors and door handles share body color while the door steps are completely blacked-out.

Jet Black vinyl upholstery comes as standard and leather as optional. There’s an intuitive rotary controller on the center console which lets the driver select between 2WD and 4WD.

Storage and Cargo:

With an ergonomic arrangement for the seats, this new Holden Trailblazer offers versatile cargo storage. When all the seats up, rear cargo storage limits to 235 liters (8.2 cu.ft); this cargo space expands to 878 liters (31 cu.ft) with the 3rd-row seat folded. Similarly, this storage further expands to 1830 liter (64 cu.ft) with the 2nd-row seats folded.

Electronics:

The new model is infested with modern technologies that are dedicated to catering driver information and convenience. To point out some, the multi-functioning steering wheel shares controls to Bluetooth® connectivity and audio.

The interior cabin offers USB connectivity for smartphone compatibility, 12 Volt DC outlets and AUX input. The 7-inch MyLink® infotainment system supports voice controls and also syncs with the 6-speaker surround sound system.

The 2017 Holden Trailblazer faces a direct competition from vehicles like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Isuzu MU-X. The LT model starts at $50,000 and LTZ at $55,000. Finally, the release date is set for summer.
