2017 GMC Acadia All Terrain Review

The General Motors has finally begun remaking its largest crossover SUV lineup after nearly a decade on the mark. The new 2017 GMC Acadia will hit the market redesigned in every part. Everything will be different, and everything will be improved compared to the previous model. This large SUV had a lot of sales, and the redesigned model will have even more. General Motors announced that we could expect this model on the dealerships next year. The exterior design of the next Acadia is more stylish while the interior design offers some new high tech features. In the next review, we take a first look at its exterior, interior, engine capabilities, and price & release date.

2017 GMC Acadia – Luxury and Elegance Design:

The exterior design of the 2017 GMC Acadia will be entirely different than before. Certainly, this exterior is quite more appealing and stylish than the previous one. The reasons are sharper lines, more sloped windshield, and squared-off wheel wells. The dimensions are also a bit different, and this model is 7.2 inches shorter, 3.9 inches shorter in height as well as 3.5 inches narrower. That means a bit less space inside the cabin, but nothing too much. Still, this model is quite large from the inside. Before we had SLE, SLT, and Denali trims, but today, General Motors added one more for this model, and the name of that trim is All Terrain. This trim is primarily designed for off-road terrains. As you know, this trim is already fitted into other GMC vehicle, but this is the first time that we have this trim in the Acadia model. Exclusively, the All Terrain comes with an exclusive three-bar front grille with a black chrome trim, a body-color surround with unique wheels and tires. The upcoming 2017 GMC Acadia will hit the market with three wheel options, so we can expect 17-, 18-, and 20-inch aluminum wheels. The whole chassis of this model will be made from lightweight materials and thanks to that fact the total weight will be 700 pounds lighter, which also means better fuel economy and better overall performance.

Even though the wheelbase is shorter, this model is spacious inside the cabin. When it comes to some details, something from the inside is redesigned while something is entirely new. For example, the dashboard debuts an all-new shape not seen on preceding models. Familiar parts are still there like the dual-zone climate controls, steering wheel as well as 8-inch IntelliLink infotainment screen. Leather also wraps all the seats, while we can also notice some wooden parts on the dashboard. Other standard interior features include a 4G LTE WI-Fi hotspot, IntelliLink with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, and many others.

2017 GMC Acadia – Powertrain Configuration:

The General Motors added a new engine for the 2017 GMC Acadia. So, under the hood, this model will be powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. There is no official information about specs, but some rumors suggest that the max output is expected to be around 194 hp. Start/stop system will be provided, and that is excellent news. One more excellent thing is that you will have the options to choose upgraded version of the well-known 3.6-liter V-6 with the capability of generating 310 hp (22 horses better than before). The standard drive type will be front wheel drive while the optional drive type will be of course all wheel drive. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission from General Motors.
