According to Ford, the Explorer model makes great success last year with almost 250.000 units sold. They say, that improvement of 19% in sales over the previous model is certainly fantastic news, but with the new 2017 Ford Explorer, we can expect even better sales, and that is definitely something that gives us encouragement for further work. So, the new model is expected to be a very popular model around the world, and its release date is scheduled for the next year. This model will be offered in several trim levels including Platinum, Limited, XLT, and Base. 2017 Ford Explorer – Remarkable Design:

From the outside, the 2017 Ford Explorer looks very luxurious and elegant and its appearance is very appealing. In general, the exterior design is a bit more aggressive than before. At the front fascia, we can notice some slight modifications, but nothing too much notable. First of all, this model will have the same front grille as before, and the front bumper will be slightly modified and fitted with LED fog lights as well as with large air vents. The headlights and the taillights are also equipped with LED technology. Some of the standard exterior features if you buy XLT trim include exterior heated mirrors, 19-inch aluminum wheels, and body-color door handles. On the other hand, if you decide to buy the Limited model you will have larger aluminum wheels, 20-inches. Platinum trim is something special and everything here is quite remarkable and luxurious.

The interior design of the 2017 Ford Explorer is very attractive and here we can expect so many high-tech features. First of all, it is important to state that all seats in all trim levels are powered by the leather, and that is excellent news. Some of the interior feature offered with XLT trim include satellite radio, a 6-way power front passenger, push-button ignition, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear and front parking sensors, climate control, and a premium audio system.

With the Limited trim, you get driver memory settings, front-view camera, a navigation system, heated front seats, power adjustable pedals, power folding third-row seat, 12-speaker audio system, 110V power outlet, HD radio and heated second-row seats.  If you purchase Platinum trim, you can enjoy in premium Sony audio system, wood and aluminum interior trim, dual-panel sunroof, rear entertainment system and upgraded leather upholstery.

2017 Ford Explorer – Under the Hood:

The new model 2017 Ford Explorer is powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 that is capable of producing 270 hp at 5,600 rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission system and the power is routed to front wheel or all-wheel drive (your choice)

The Platinum trim will use a different engine and it is about the 3.5 liter V6 engine that is capable of delivering 365 hp at 5,500 rpm as well as 350 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm. The same transmission system is provided, while the drive type is all wheel drive.

According to EPA, the fuel consumption is rated at 19/28/22 mpg in the city/highway/combined with the front wheel drive. The acceleration from 0-60 mph will be flat six seconds while the top speed will be rated at 125 mph. (XLT and Limited trims) The fuel consumption with the Platinum trim is rated at 16/22 mpg in the city/highway.

2017 Ford Explorer – MSRP and Date of Release:

The upcoming 2017 Ford Explorer has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of around $32.000. The XLT version will be around $34,300, will the Sport and Platinum models start at $44,200 and $53,500. Its release date is scheduled for the beginning of 2017.
