With an attractive exterior, a spacious interior and high performing engine options, the Ford Escape is loved by many car enthusiasts. The American automobile manufacturer is keen to keep this compact SUV on the market, and this is one of the reasons it is introducing the 2017 Ford Escape. The new model will get a modern design, more sophisticated technology, and energy-efficient powertrains.

2017 Ford Escape – Exterior and Interior Redesign:

The car exterior will be modified with the aim of making it more aggressive and sportier. The automaker will build the vehicle on the Global C platform which involves the use of lighter materials and sophisticated equipment. The automaker will introduce classic colors that are expected to emphasize the lines and curves of the car.

The front end of the 2017 Ford Escape will have a two-slat hexagonal grille, new headlights, and medium-sized air intakes. In the rear end, there will be LED headlights, a refreshed exhaust system, and a stylish bumper. Other exterior features also include acoustic glass windows and more functional side mirrors. However, the cabin will be spacious enough to fit 5 passengers and some luggage. The steering wheel and seats will be covered in high-quality leather. Other materials also expected to feature soft fabric, wood, and aluminum. The entire interior will look classier with a beautiful color scheme and polished surfaces.

The dashboard will be the center of the car’s technology. It will feature the following tech equipment: a Synch infotainment system, a wider screen display, Bluetooth & USB connectivity, Smartphone integration, a GPS navigation system, an automatic climate control unit and a premium radio.

The following protection features will be included to make the new Ford SUV safer and more secure: rear electronic camera, basic sensors, cruise control, guests alarm, lane departure warning system, seatbelts, blind-spot monitoring, parking assist and airbags.

2017 Ford Escape – Engine and Gearbox System:

The new 2017 Ford Escape crossover has three engine options. The first one will be a 1.6-liter I4 engine which is capable of cranking 168 hp and 170 lb-ft. The second option is a 2.5-liter I4 engine with a capacity of 180 hp and 170 lb-ft. The last option is a 2.0-liter V6 engine with 240 hp. The three drivetrains will be backed by a 6-speed automatic gearbox system.

The car can achieve a top speed of 135 mph with accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.0 seconds. Concerning fuel economy, the CUV will have a fuel consumption of 23 mpg in cities and 30 mpg highways. The engines are eco-friendly, so CO2 emission rates will be reduced significantly.

2017 Ford Escape – MSRP, Release Date, and Competitions:

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price of the base model is set at $24,000 while top trim levels (SE & Titanium Sports Model) at 26,000 to $38,000. The new Escape will become fully available to customers in the last quarter of 2016.


Finally, the new 2017 Ford Escape will face rivalry from Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester, Hyundai Santa Fe,  and Honda CR-V.
