The 2018 DS7 Crossback SUV is the first European luxury SUV model of the French premium brand that was revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The inbound DS7 version creates a stylized expression that gradually becomes recognizable in the global auto industry. It gets a mesh radiator grille with a conspicuous DS emblem in the middle, along with plenty of chrome-plated details. Of course, we also get to see some rotating DS7-specific Active LED Vision headlights.
The headlamps go to the neutral mode when the vehicle is at rest. They get activated and emit a briefly purple ambient light when it is locked. That way, the LED modules turn 180 degrees to accomplish the active driving position. The latest DS 7 Crossback model receives the front light signature, which gets complemented with LED daytime running lights in the form of vertical patterns in the bumper.
2018 DS7 Crossback SUV – Attractive and Mighty Design
The 2018 DS7 Crossback SUV designers wanted to create an exterior that can distinctly be differentiated from the exterior. That’s why the revamped DS7 Crossback conveys the atypical ventilation holes and central console, but its dashboard comes with two large 12-inch displays. The former becomes the ideal substitute for a conventional instrument panel, while the rest belong to a multimedia system.
On the passenger compartment, we will see a lot of high-quality materials like Nappa leather seats. These are meant to introduce the impression that the incoming DS 7 Crossback version is a premium vehicle. The 2018 DS7 Crossback SUV also brings a special package of equipment, which you can order in three exclusive sheds of the exterior. Seats are wrapped in Nappa leather with contrasting color.
Security and Tech
Furthermore, the new 2018 DS7 Crossback SUV comes furnished with DS Park Pilot automatic Parking System. A lot of security assist systems will become available as standard. These include the DS Night Vision system that uses an infrared camera to achieve a better visibility in night driving conditions. Another security assist system is the DS Driver Attention Monitoring, which alerts and warns the driver when the signs of fatigue become evident.
Additionally, we have the DS Active LED Vision with adaptive headlights that adjust the length and width of the light beam based on the traffic conditions and speed of the car. The next DS7 model gets equipped with the DS Connected Pilot function of the auto-pilot. When necessary, this feature relieves the driver on the highway at speeds of between 30km/h and 180km/h. Also, this device works in conjunction with active cruise function to perform corrections to the direction of the car’s movement.
2018 DS7 Crossback SUV – Comes with few Engine Variants
The 2018 DS7 Crossback SUV comes with a plug-in hybrid drive system that consists of a gasoline motor and two electric engines. Each axle has one electric motor, which thereby achieves the effect of the drive on all four wheels. The DS7 has a gasoline generator that yields about 200 horsepower, while each of the electric powertrains executes about 109 horsepower. Overall, this hybrid system produces a combined output of 300 horsepower. The engine gets hooked to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The electric drive system is made up of a lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 13 kWh. There are three driving modes available. The available battery takes around four-and-a-half hours to recharge on the home power outlet. Using the quick charger reduces the charging time to just two-and-a-half hours.
Aside from the hybrid version, the new 2018 DS7 Crossback SUV will also include regular petrol and diesel drive variants. It comes with three gas stations, including THP 225, THP 180 and PureTech 130. The new model comes with 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all the four wheels.
