The Citroen Cactus 2017 adventure is designed to be a crossover and the first concept of this car was presented at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Even though it doesn’t have spikes, the Cactus name comes especially from the side protection bars, also called Air Bumps. The previous version of Citroen Cactus was a total success and received the prize of World Car Design of the Year in 2015 from the New York Auto Show. Based on this reputation we hope that the 2017 model will be at least as good as the previous one.
Citroen Cactus 2017 – Air Bumps Feature:
The exterior of Citroen Cactus 2017 comes with a strange but very innovative accessory which hasn’t been used before in a car. They are called Air Bumps and they have the role in preventing the car from being scratched while driving the city or while trying to park the car in a crowded parking lot. The front and rear bars are giving the car a very futuristic look and are made entirely from aluminum. The front lights are very imposing, making the car looks adventurous but at the same time stylish. They are using the LED technology as most of the modern cars.
The interior is very new and fancy looking and the orange Mica Grey seats are the perfect proof for that. Even the speakers have some orange nuances, thing that combines well with the design of the car. The command interface at the Citroen Cactus 2017 is very well organized and its operated from a 7-inch touchscreen display which is located in the middle of the dashboard, same as most of the 2016 – 2017 cars. The main functions of the car are precise maps via satellite navigation, audio streaming and Bluetooth phone, a digital speedometer and many other features.
Citroen Cactus 2017 – Engine Information:
Besides the design, even the engine at the Citroen Cactus is very economic. The engineers made an engine that doesn’t pollute, has a reasonable fuel consumption and in the same time does not affect too much the price. So, the first engine option at the new Citroen Cactus will be a 1,2 liter inline-3, 74 or 80 hp, 87 lb-f. Another option will be the turbocharged and intercooler SOHC 8-valve 1.6-liter diesel inline-4, 91 or 98 hp, 170 or 187 lb-ft. All the engines will be operated with a standard 5-speed manual transmission and the fuel consumption is more than decent giving the size of the car.
The performance of the Citroen Cactus 2017 is more than decent, and the car is able to go from 0 to 60 mph in between 9.0 and 16.0 seconds depending on the engine option and to reach a top speed between 106 and 117 mph, again, depending on the chosen engine.
