For 2018, the company has decided to resurrect the new model 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir. The Avenir styling will impact both interior and exterior design features, while engine performance will build off the suitably impressive 2017 model with few changes.
At the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the Buick presented the 2015 Avenir rear-wheel sedan concept to impressed crowds; however, the Avenir never made it past the concept phase and was subsequently scrapped before it reached production lines.
2018 Buick Enclave Avenir – Exterior and Interior Design
In terms of the Avenir exterior, the 2018 Enclave boasts a new front end design including a shift to a three-dimensional mesh grille with a new set of chrome wings. The 2018 Buick Enclave will also boast 20-inch wheels with a pearl-nickel coating.
The interior improvements include a number of pleasing aesthetic adjustments. It including wood trim on the steering wheel, sill plates and floor mats with the Avenir logo. Also, the interior coloring will be contrasting brown and black.
Other improvements to the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir interior in standard models include seating for seven with heated seats for the first and second rows, ventilated front seats with an interior ionize. Also, there is a 360-degree camera system with a rear mirror that can be traditional or work as a camera-based virtual rearview mirror (which was originally presented in the Cadillac CT6), and 17 radar, ultrasonic, and camera sensors on fully equipped models.
Additional interior improvements include an 8-inch frameless, adjustable cluster display and OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspots with 5 years of the OnStar Basic Plan at no additional cost; Wi-Fi access is a limited trial period and will require an AT&T data plan to use once the trial expires.
As well, the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir offers a hands-free programmable lift gate and boasts more cargo room than competitor models like the Acura MDX, Audi Q7, or Infiniti QX60.
The 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir will come standard with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine. This engine will offer 288 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque. It will be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The fuel efficiency has also seen incremental improvements in the 2018 Buick Enclave. It now offers 15 mpg for city driving and 22 mpg for highway driving. Safety features include adaptive cruise control and full-speed Forward Automatic Breaking (FAB).
Other performance enhancements in the 2018 Buick Enclave include standard five-link rear suspension and CDC. All models come standard with front-wheel drive, but the Buick twin-clutch system allows for improved engine efficiency and vehicle control. Buick’s AWD system is optional.
Market Release and Price of the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir
The anticipated release date for the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir is the third quarter of 2017. No pricing information has been officially provided. The previous versions cost around $40 000 up to-$50 000 range.
