The upcoming 2019 BMW X3 is an all-around luxury SUV that offers great driving dynamics, versatility and practicality. German’s brand new model will hit the markets with three different trim levels, new lighting system, wheels, roof and even redesigned interior. Three engine options are available, and the approaching X3 comes as a lighter and faster vehicle as a result.
2019 BMW X3 Redesign
The roofline of the 2019 BMW X3 model is now much better and the rear hatch is more angular. Up front kidney grille is dimensionally larger with some chrome trim around it. The small vent under the front grille is removed, and as a result, the air dam is larger and it features sporty overhang on top. It also comes with a new pair of LED headlights and even LED foglamps.
The hood looks sharp and in combination with nice body lines, X3 now looks longer. At the back, new taillights units are extended onto the hatch, and the hatch is also wider. If you opt for Luxury model almost all aluminum trims are coming with chrome, 18-inch wheels are a matter of choice, while Sport package offers 21-inches alloy wheels.
2019 BMW X3 Interior Look
The 2019 BMW X3 cabin could be named as “driver’s interior” as the main focus is to make driving as pleasant as possible. The old flat dash is a new one with a sloped dash with some smooth lines and sharp edges. However, the HVAC and center vents are larger, and the whole central trim is toward the driver seat.
Furthermore, that means the infotainment screen and other controls are better and easier to use. On top of that, a 10.2-inch touchscreen will come as a standard. The steering wheel is completely new and it comes in the same color as the rest of the trim. The doors from the inside are now better with refreshing innovation with better armrest position. The controls in the center stack are downsized and repositioned so now the storage bin is larger and there is more space for cup holders as well.
The 2019 BMW X3 comes with active cruise control and lane keep assisting as standard. The other one’s features that will be also available are Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Roll Stability Control (RSC), Side Impact Beams, BMW Assist eCall Emergency S.O.S, Low Tire Pressure Warning, Curtain 1st And 2nd Row Airbags, Rear Child Safety Locks and Back-Up Camera.
2019 BMW X3 Engine and Top Speed
Like mentioned, newly 2019 BMW X3 is available in three different trim levels. The base model will feature a 2.0-liter engine with 248 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. The other option is 3.0-liter six-cylinder drivetrain that returns 355 HP and 369 lb-ft of torque.
Both engines are available with 8-speed automatic transmission and both engines top speed is 155 mph. However, the 2.0-liter unit hits 0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds, while 3.0-liter drivetrain needs 4.4 seconds to hit that number.
2019 BMW X3 M
The powerful edition 2019 BMW X3 M will get the stronger engine and few modifications. The model is caught testing and there are some of the spy shots. The high-performance crossover SUV will get bigger wheels and there is also a large intake and hexagonal mesh pattern that is seen on model M2. At the rear, we will finally get the quad-exhaust system.
Under the hood of this model is laying a powerful and mighty 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine. We also must mention that this engine is from the M2 model. This engine is capable to make 450 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It will get an 8-speed automatic. Furthermore, we expect all four wheels drive system.
2019 BMW X3 Release Date and Price
BMW is still refusing to provide any official information, but the rumored release date is somewhere around February 2019. The new model BMW X3 will cost slightly above $40,000. Depending on the trim you choose, the price could go up to $50,000. The powerful BMW X3 M will start at around $60.000.
