Optionally, the new model features a 2-liter diesel engine that has a better fuel economy of 27 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. All the X3 SUVs feature a smooth shifting automatic 8-speed transmission. One exciting feature of the X3 is that the engine stops when the driver hits the brake and immediately restarts when he lifts his foot off the brake pedal. However, if you find this restarts annoying, you can simply turn it off by the press of a button. The 2018 X3 is expected to do 0-60 in about 5.3 seconds and have a top speed of 127 mph.

The 2018 BMW X3 is expected to start at slightly under $40,000 for the standard rear wheel drive 2.0-liter turbo.For the top line 3.0 6 cylinders, you will be required to cough a few more dollars with its MSRP starting at $49,000. Just to point out, all these prices are starting points, a fully loaded xDrive35i could spike to as high as $60,000. The BMW X3 base price is in the same bracket as that of its immediate rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, and Jaguar F-pace. The 2018 BMW X3 is expected to be in the market early 2017.
