The Audi engineers are warming up to discharge an 2018 Audi e-Tron SUV with incredible niceties worth the price. The new e-Tron Sportback is a premium SUV that conveys gas/electric plug-in-hybrid system with significantly reduced emissions and better mileage. Our spy photographers managed to capture the upcoming Audi e-Tron for the very first time. And, it appears that the new SUV does not compromise on style and versatility.
As revealed by a recently spotted development car, it seems the brand-new e-Tron is on course to rival the likes of Jaguar’s I-Pace model. The Audi designers are working around the clock to secure the coveted title of the first premium electric Sports Utility Vehicle. The reworked e-Tron, which flaunts a range of over 310 miles, is built upon the electrified platform that Porsche currently uses for its Mission E electric saloon.
2018 Audi e-Tron – Sporty Design
The production of the 2018 Audi e-Tron is likely to be seen early next year. However, our spy images hint that the finished product mirrors the e-Tron concept which was revealed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
While the car’s design stays under wraps, its profile chimes flawlessly with the shape offered on the concept car. The evidenced at the front fascia implies that although the e-tron may convey its concept proportions, some design elements might be toned down. Hence, we are likely to find a more conventional face that augurs with Audi’s regular SUV lineup.
Rugged side skirts have been toned down in the new edition. At the rear section, we find that the headlights flare outwards at either corner just to resemble the concept car of 2015. Overall, the 2018 Audi e-Tron has slightly less butch front along with the less raked rear window. The concept’s lighting designs appear to have been preserved. The supposed plan includes a strip connecting the taillights.
Inside, the inbound Audi e-Tron highlights a few updates. This time, we’ve got two USB ports and heated front seats coming as standard on all trim levels. The Premium Plus trim is likely to receive Audi’s side assist as well as an optional Bang & Olufsen Sound System. It might also get MMI Navigation plus and Virtual Cockpit in the Technology package.
Engine and Battery Pack
The 2018 Audi e-Tron will use a 496-horsepower electric drivetrain comprising two motors in the rear and one up front. The package is supplemented by a 95-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. According to the automaker, this drivetrain package provides up to 310 miles of range on a single charge. Also, there’s a 30-minute quick charge option that replenishes more than 200 miles of range. It will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.5 sec with a restricted top speed of 131mph
