Aston Martin DBX SUV Concept

The futuristic Aston Martin DBX model will arrive in 2019. This SUV with V8 and V12 engines is designed to match the competition from Tesla Model X, and Bentley Bentayga.

As CEO of the Aston Martin, Andy Palmer said: “If we want to survive, we must make an SUV.” And here it is, in Geneva in 2015, this two-door model was presented.

Aston Martin DBX – Will be all covered in leather

There is not much information about the interior, apart from that the cabin will come with 2×2 configuration. Classy seats covered with nubuck leather gives the cabin very fashioned look. However, even the acceleration and brake pedals will be covered in leather. The upcoming DBX is a prototype of some “old-new” ideas. Aston Martin’s focus is on effectiveness and spacing more than on beautiful interior.

Palmer said that everyone is set to take a whole new approach in the terms of design. He also added that DBX is a revolution for Aston Martin in many ways and adapting is the key. There is also speculation that the car mirrors will be replaced with cameras. High tech will also include the heads-up display and a panoramic roof.

The Aston Martin DBX will have bolted aluminum construction, and the roofline will be much higher than before. It is believed that the Aston Martin is considering to use a Mercedes-Benz platform. However, this company claims are that they will use the reworked version like they did with the DB11 coupe version.

Aston Martin DBX – Optional Engine

This DBX concept vehicle revealed at Geneva car show in 2015 will use KERS system. KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) is an automotive system for recovering a moving vehicle’s kinetic energy under braking. This system is well known in F1.

The power is coming from the 4.0L V8 engine that produces 503 hp and 515 lb-ft of torque.  The other version of the engine is the 5.2L v12 engine, which will come from one pair of turbos. They will ease boost power to 600 HP.

There will be no diesel version of DBX, but the forthcoming Aston Martin DBX is planning to develop a hybrid version of the vehicle. It is confirmed that the hybrid version will see the light of the day in the summer of 2020. It will come without plug-in hybrid technology. Speaking of handling, Palmer acknowledged that this model is dynamically probably the best car in SUV category.
This model will become the first Aston Martin vehicle that will come with four-wheel drive.
