About one month ago, Acura dropped a teaser image of the new 2017 Acura MDX. That was good news, but that was not enough. Finally, at the New York Auto Show, we saw this model, and we find out a lot of information about it. The anticipated model will hit the dealerships with some exciting changes. Beneath the hood of new 2017 Acura MDX, the standard powertrain will remain the same and well known 3.5-liter SOHC i-VTEC V6 engine that will be capable of delivering 290 hp at 6200 rpm and torque of 267 ft-lbs. at 4700 rpm. This engine is mated to a 9-speed shiftable automatic and equipped with front wheel drive. However, we can expect the addition of MDX Sports Hybrid with its own version of the 3-motor SH-AWD setup. The hybrid model will be powered by a 3.0-liter V-6 engine that is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission system with an incorporated electric motor to control the front wheels. The max output for a hybrid will be 325 hp. The fuel consumption will be 25/26/26 in the city/highway and combined.

The newest 2017 Acura MDX has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $44.890. The release date should be by the end of this year. Some of its main competitors are Audi Q7 and BMW X5.
